Default New to Mini S head gasket replacement

Whats up guys and gals. I just picked up an 03 Mini Cooper S for with a blown head gasket. Seeing as in going to be getting into some internal work I was wondering if there are any must do upgrades. I'm not looking for more power necessarily but I want it to be more dependable. Its got 47k miles on it. Any recommendations would be helpful.

Thermostat and gasket change, timing tensioner worth doing as a preventative measure, you can also buy a blow off valve adaptor.the first 2 will give you piece if mind and whilst the top end is stripped down will add minimal cost to labor.blow off valve adaptor is very cheap search the net,no power gain but gives the whoosh sound great bit of fun.again minimal cost to fit.adaptor is direct fit no issues with fault codes and does no damage to the car.
