Hello, I have a 2002 Type s Mini....about 2 months ago mypassenger window started struggling to roll up and down and within a few weeks, it completely stopped, just today my driver side also stopped rolling down, it didnt really show as much signs as the other, so anyways i try to press the button to roll each one up and it just makes a quick clicking noise but my windows dont move....just wondering what the problem is and how much does something like this cost to fix...thank you all for your help.

 

I'd try to remove the inner door panel and look at the tracks and see if the windows have hopped off track ... Also inspect the power window motor the clicking might be a stripped gear /or damaged regulator assembly

 

The official word from Mini USA is, the reason why your window motor will not work, is dueto the connection harness sometimes gets corroded, or it's the window motor. They recommend banging on the door panel will sometimes get the motor working again. But they really do need to remove the door panel and service the connections or the motor. So please take it in to a Mini service tech, either at the dealership or a local Mini repair shop. I personally do not take my car in to Mini to fix small problems like this, any BMW shop can do the job, just locate one and give them a call, to enure they work on Mini's.

 

usually what you describe the motor will not turn , since he's desribing clicking that normally means the motor is running , just not making the window move
