I just purchased a 2004 Mini Cooper S. I was looking at the air filter when I noticed an random cable sticking out near the battery jump connection. What is this for and where should it plug in if anywhere? I attached a photo of the wire connector for insight...

 

It looks like the one that goes into the transmission for the back up lights on a manual trans. I am putting my engine back in Saturday. Maybe I can tell you then.
