Default Am I paranoid? Other drivers are hostile!

Has anyone else experienced hostility/road rage from other drivers for no apparant reason? I constantly deal with tailgaters, and getting cut off or even once I was pushed out of my lane.
Even on my motorcycle, I have never experienced such hostility. It's not my driving, because it doesn't happen to me when I am driving another car. Also, my husband has had similar experiences.
Is there some stereotype about Minis that I'm unaware of? About 90% of the time, the aggressor is driving an american made car.
Sometimes I feel like that deer in the Far Side cartoon that has a target on his chest, and the other deer says "Bummer of a birthmark, dude."

Don't really think it's hostility. Perhaps the jealousy factor kicks in when we come around.

Funny, have only had my MINI 2 days and I have noticed the same thing. It's not from my driving habits. Those big trucks do look bigger from inside a MINI.

I think you're right Flaming Victory! how can anyone not like the Mini? My boss is even trying to talk her husband into getting one for her since she saw mine.
Haven't experienced hostility on the road yet...but those little Smart cars have been winkng their headlights to say hi

Only a thousand miles under our belt in our new mini.

Looking up at other vehicles as we do in our Mini can be a little intimidating. That tail gatteing thing! At first I thought the same thing but then relized that there is not much Mini metal [length] between my rear view mirror and the back of the Mini. I'm over that now. We definitly get a lot of attention one way or another!!! Is't that why we bought a Mini?

PS, you always have the ability to leave them in your dust. Retired and loving our Mini. Bob.

Default It's always at stop lights for me...

I'm VERY aware of where the back of my car is and who and what are close to it. It seems that mostly mini vans/soccer moms and large 4x4's
(with the fake Bulls Ba!!s hanging from the hitch...) like to get real close at stop lights.
I'm modding a halogen headlight to fit the backups in order to surprise them with...lol

That's the sprit! Think positive and don't take any shi----!

You won't beleive it but we use to drive a 3500 [one ton] dully pick up as our first car just before we bought the Mini so we really feel like we're being looked down on. Haveing so much fun driving the Mini, hate to drive the pick up that we still own for camping purposes. Bob.

The Hondas and Toyotas behind us do seem to act as though they're in a race, and we're in their way. They know what we've got, but they have to prove what they've got.

Trucks are always the worst offenders in terms of getting tail-gated. I just assume these things are driven by angry hicks (this happens every so often in my current MX-5). It's a little irritating when I see somebody careening down the freeway like they want to plow right through my car.

The other large group of people guilty of this is the luxury car owners (both SUV's and sedans). It's like they're always in a hurry and don't care about getting caught for speeding or roadway etiquette.

I can't say it's the mini per se...I think it's just the size of the car that makes it a target. People who are jerks think they a right to be bullies on the road.
