Hello all. I am looking to get my first mini. I'm currently driving an 03 jetta 1.8t 5 speed with a stage 1 apr tune. I'm looking to trade or for a like year mini. Issue I am running in to is picking the right car. I know the obvious differences between non s and s such as speed, acceleration, suspension, etc. What I'm looking for is some more specific info catered to my needs. As I said, I have a jetta. It's fun, but I've wanted a mini for years. I drive 90% highway so the acceleration and what not isn't a major issue. That drive is one hour each way so I want the drive to be fun, but reliable. But while I am in town I still want to have fun. The age I'm looking at its not as simple as "go test drive each" so I'm. Counting on yalls expert opinions to help me out. Are there mods to make the non s quicker for relatively inexpensive? Etc. I'm an auto technician so I'm not scared to get my hands dirty.

That sounds awesome, however I don't have cash. I'm looking to trade my jetta. I'm not expecting to get an awesome mini. I'm perfectly happy with a low end s with manual. I have since decided that I'm not going to settle with a non s. I don't want to be sad I don't have the power. But I mean of your down for a trade and live close to NC im happy. Lol
