Default looking to purchase, Help!

I am looking to purchase a used 2002-2003 Mini Cooper S and I would appreciate any advice as to what to be aware of , possible problem spots etc. I have narrowed it down to the S model, standard, with the power group and I really want the sun roof. Thanks in advance.

Of the age-group you mentioned, stick with the 03s. The 02 seems to have been more problem prone. Also, if you are an I-pod kind of person, the 02 stereo doesn't allow the use of aux input.
The 03s have a much stiffer suspension than later models. Good for autocrossing/ racing, less so for daily driving. Changing over from run-flat tires to non-RFs seems to help out
If you have more questions, please ask.

There actually isn't and difference in suspension between 02-06. The only real changes are the 05-06 has 8 more hp, and a couple different options.

The two major MINI flaws to watch out for are mushroomed shock towers and leaking engine mounts.
