Just posted in the NEW MEMBER FORUM and thought I would also post here...
Is everyone else finding that on 2008 orders that dealers won't discount...
have been to 2 dealers in South Florida and both will take a deposit for FEB/MAR delivers but NO DISCOUNT...
never paid list for ANY car before...from my 1964 1/2 Mustang to my 2006 H-3
is this normal???

Read the next post down on this forum. Mini has no problem selling virtually every Mini that they import. So no dealer, none at all, will give you a cost belowMSRP. Plenty will give youa pricewell above it though.
Have you checked out used Mini's.You might find that one with 20,000 miles in good condition will cost just about the same as a new one. Some fools pay even above new MSRP for a used Mini.That is mainly because people don't have the patience to wait to order a new Mini, and quite often, no new ones are on the lot.
I think it has to do with one of those capitalisticsystem attributes that I learned long ago in an economics classcalled "supply and demand".
