Default should I buy a MINI?

hi all, I know it's a silly question to ask here.
I want a car to drive to work(100 miles a day) good on gas and look good.
now, I'm thinking about the mini, should I buy the mini to commute or this is a weekend car only?
I read the consumer report, the mini has POOR reliability, what do I need to pay attention?
is it a high maintanence vehicle? ( coz I'm talking about 30K miles per year)
in my case, is Yaris a better choice?
please let me know

Thank you

you need to ask your best friend what you should buy. you will regret getting the mini if a few years down the road you get hit with some repair bills. you will regret getting the yaris every day you drive it especially if you see someone else driving a mini. yaris is more practical. mini is more thrill. seriously, ask your best friend what you should do or just go with your gut.

Maintenance on a Mini is pretty tough in the long haul.

BMW labor is $150 per hour.
The cooper is totally reliable now, but I do not think I would buy such a jem just to destroy t while using it to commute that far every day. I would get the Yaris hatchback for the commute, and a Mini for the weekends if I were you. The Yaris because it is dirt cheap for what you get, and the cooper because it is a cooper!

I have the same commute with my 04 Cooper. She now has 114,000+ miles on her and I still cannot getthat sillyass smile off my face. My 100 miles-a-day commute is often the most enjoyable part of my day.

It's true, MINI service is not cheap and reliability cannot compare with my old Civics, but know this-

After you drive a MINI every thing else just doesn't cut it.
