What to buy??
New guy here, and I"m lookin for help on what year to buy....or avoid, as the case may be?
I'm staring yet another back surgery in the face and there comes a time to hang up the riding gear, sell the motorcycles and embrace my next hobby....a mini convertible. I'd very much welcome help in picking what year to buy??
What we need-
-Convertible
- Automatic
-We like the power of the "S"
-We need a back seat. It's for the dog so a small backseat is preferable
Where are we leaning?- Either we'd like to pick up an 13/14, or try to save some $$ and look for something around an 09/10 with lower miles. In researching history, it looks like the mini's had there issues in the beginning, but looks like they have got those taken care of for the most part? But in reading about other issues, it looks like some years had elect probs too?
Please let me know thoughts on what years to target, or more likely, years to avoid? I figure I'm best off getting the input from owners who really know their cars rather than some site that has advertisement influences. Thanks all.

I have had a 2007 Hardtop and just got a 2012 Clubman. I would personally not get a non S car. The turbo and 6 speed is great. I went with the clubman this time for some extra space. It doesnt seem like much at the dealer, but i have noticed how much more it is in real world usage. The nicer thing about a newer car is the warrantee. I bought the extended on my 2012 to cover for 6 years. Its a cheap peice of mind.
