Default Dealer Scam??

So I've decided to part w/ my 2008 BMW 335xi coupe to pick up a 2006 mini cooper S. I found the car on cars.com, it is british racing green w/ cordoba beige interior and has most the options I am looking for. The only problem is dealer hasnt disclosed price on cars.com and when I called and spoke with them the dealer told me the cars listed around 36k [:-]

Ya...ok for a 2006 Mini cooper S w/ 13k miles, but apparently it has the JCW package which he stated makes it limited etc etc. Any/all pics that I've seen thus far of mini's w/ the JCW kit had different rims and paint scheme's. Just wondering, is there anyway to tell for sure if the car really has the JCW package? I understand that JCW offers a aero package, engine package, suspension etc etc. But how/if can I know which is even installed or on the car? I am thinking the dealer is simply trying to hype up this car to make it out to be more than what it is....

Any ideas??

look at the brakes, springs, intake box and on the DME there should be a sticker with a serial number for the DME reprogram for the JCW software. check the exhaust. if it is a full JCW car then it will have the aero kit and wheels and a bagde on the lower left front grill and on the rear trunk lid. 36k is an outrageous price, go look at the car first. infact do a car fax report just to be sure. when you look at the car listen for a rattle when the clutch is out and look atop the transmission for dryed coolant (blueish green).

You're really a MINI tech? JCW cars don't have to have the body kit or special wheels, as long as they're 17". The things to look for are exhaust, JCW sticker on the valve cover, intake, and brakes. However, it could be a dealer installed JCW engine package which doesn't come with the brakes.

If it has all the engine stuff, the brakes, the suspension, body kit, navi, etc etc etc then $37k might actually be a legit price. You could option the R53 up to 50k+.
