Help! Please,

Bought 2011 R56 abot a month ago. Love the car except it throws out more codes than Bill Gates.

thankfully most seem to be glitches. So far...

i had had a not very expensive Bosch code reader. Had problems getting it to read and reset.

i got an iCarSoft reader that is supposed to be for Mini.

Having same problems. Sometimes it will read codes, but usually when either reading and especially when trying to turn off codes, I get

”Communication Error
Check connection
make suew vehicle is turned on but not running.”

since Mini has electronic fob and start stop button, what constitutes turned on but not running?

ive tried
Fob in foot on brake
Fob in foot not on brake
Fob in, engine started then stopped
and with engine running.


Very frustrated. Suggestions please?
