My 2016 cooper base has been fantastic. Until my uber driver cancelled a pickup to go to the airport. My mini was happily in the garage, maybe a 1/4 tank of gas when I suddenly had to load him up with an old friend and our luggage. Mini sat at the airport for 3 weeks. We arrived back to the car, looked fine, got in drove maybe 2 feet when I got a hood open alarm. Checked, hood not open. Then the hood chiming and overheating alarm. Checked, it looked fine. Then it started turning off at traffic lights. Limped home with all the sounds going. Called my mechanic who suggested Techron, did that, filled it up, the turning off at light stopped, but chiming continued. A month on and it’s still doing it, going in to mechanic next week. The mystery tube.
today, I decided to check coolant level, and it is seriously low. And there’s an unplugged tube by the coolant tank. Can’t see where it should connect?
does anyone know where the tube goes or what it’s for? Or any other ideas about the chiming!
