Default I need help “optioning” a new mini!

I am new to this forum but have loved “mini's” for a while now. I am about to purchase one new but would appreciate help from the forum members as to what options are worth ordering and no trouble versus what options aren't worth it and are just “asking” for trouble. Thanks for any help or advice in advance.

I got over 60 views of my query but not one response! What kind of forum is this? Am I in the wrong topic? Any help greatly appreciated.

Default Help

Hello. I just bought a new orange 'S'. It came with lots of options. One I wouldn't get (costs lots), is the parallel parking, or the navigation (most phones have this). My advice would be, get everything you can afford to buy - cash. I don't buy on time, costs twice as much. I got automatic and leather, sport package, media package, premium package. I'm an old guy so i can afford it.

I worked on the original Mini, in Oxford, when I was sixteen.

Get the dealer's cost from Edmunds, and make an offer to buy, based upon knowledge of how much they're making. Don't forget the dealer gets a 2% kick-back on the dealer cost.

Good luck. Ron.

Opt for the "S" model. More fun to drive if you get a manual. In my opinion, I would pass on the moon roof. I think it's over rated and it adds like 60lbs to you car. Skip the navi also. Good luck.

Thanks, Ron!! Your car sounds beautiful! That's really close to what I want but
maybe in red. But orange could be good, too. Did you get the moon roof?
All great advice---thanks again. I'll post when I get my car. I've ALWAYS loved Mini's.
Best.

Thank you, Teamslam 1! I wouldn't have thought of passing on the moon roof so that's very interesting. Definitely the "S" model and no navi!!

Thanks for the help.

Best,
Jennifer aka Jeffy

Jeffy. Mine came with a 'moon-roof' (no idea why they call it that). I put black, two thin. pinstripes on the sides and painted the brake calipers orange. Looks great. IMO.
