Default Pass. Seat belt Locked

The Passenger Seat Belt on my 2006 Mini got caught on the seat adjustment
lever on the right side. The seat was in the full back position. The seat belt is now locked in place. Is there anyway to 'release' the lock so I don't have to disassemble the lever to get the seat belt off. There is about 1 1/2 inches of slack, that's all. Thanks, BC

Default Seat Belt alarm

Mine is a 2016 Cooper S hardtop and as I type this its in the dealership having the “seat mat” repaired/exchanged - they’ve done it 3 times with no luck - on to the 4th today. Makes you wonder if there’ll be a more serious, expensive electrical issue down the road. I just bought this 2016 and its still under warranty thankfully, but doesn’t give me a lot of confidence for the future!
