The HK radio on my 2006 S conv made a horrible squealing sound and the went completely quiet. The radio still lights up, but no sounds are forthcoming. I tried a cd as well with no joy. No sound at all seems more like an amp problem than a radio problem. I spoke to a guy at Crutchfield who has owned Minis who said it sounded like the amp not the radio and that the amp was a PIA to fix/replace.

Where do I start trouble shooting? Anything easy I can check?
