Hello All. I am new to this thread, but not new to owning a Mini. I am currently looking for an entirely new engine for my 2007 Mini Cooper Base Hatchback R56 and am having a difficult time navigating the information I am compiling. The main questions that I am hoping you all can help me with are: (1) How do I know the new engine will fit in my specific vehicle? (2) Is there a way to use the VIN to be certain? If so, how? (3) Would an engine from a 2007 mini cooper convertible fit into my hatchback? Why or why not? (4) Where is the BEST place to find a complete engine that will deal with me honestly and avoid unnecessary fees or treat me differently because I am female?
