Question Concerned about 05 Mini with CVT

Hi, I just purchased an 05 Mini with CVT transmission - 55,000 miles. Now as I look around I discover many unhappy Mini customers with older CVTs, like failing at 30, 40, 50, 75,000 miles, and Mini will not cover repair, often getting out of it even when mileage is below 50,000. On some sites there are dozens of posts from unhappy Mini owners.

I really like the Mini, but . . .
Now I'm feeling ready to find a trade for a newer Mini with a traditional automatic.

Is this as big a problem as it feels like looking at these blog spots?

I know the early 02/04s were more trouble prone then the 05+ but have seen them fail as well

I own a 2002 mini cvt,no problems. I also drove a brand new 750 bmw saloon the gearbox only lasted 900miles, so it's the luck of the draw try not to be put off by other peoples problems. I wouldn't part with my mini for anything.
