As a prospective owner, I am still just beginning my research into the various incarnations of the MINI over the year, and wanting to gain knowledge from your experiences as it relates to RATING the MINI over the years in terms of value, trouble-free, and desirability. Are there any model years to avoid? Any combination of major components to avoid? I have heard at least two different anecdotal accounts of power steering issues at 50k miles... what years did this affliction affect? Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated, as having a solid owners experience is very important to me.
