In late April, I bought a 2006 Mini Base from the original owner. It had 66600 miles on it and seems to be in great shape. I have put about 900 miles on it, and have changed the oil and air and cabin filters, and was able to reset the oil change count down mileage indicator to 15500. The only issue I have is that the Air bag light has come on and stays on. I have tried disconnecting the battery leads, hopeing to reset the computer, thinking it would reset the light. This did not work. Any suggestions and or tips concerning my 06' ? Thanks for looking, Joe

 

I'm a new Mini S owner, got a 2006 a couple of months ago. There were a couple minor issues when I bought it and I've got everything taken care off except the air bag light. Sounds like the same issue? Apparently it could be the wiring, which should be a fairly easy repair, or it could be the sensor itself, which I understand would mean replacing the entire bottom of the passengers seat? Does anyone out there have any other info, or ideas? I was curious if this is a common issue, and can anyone confirm if the airbags (drivers or both) would even function in a crash with the light on?
