New Member in the Caribbean (and sometimes DC)
Recently I transferred from Washington DC to the Dominican Republic for work and personal reasons, and that required selling our cars to get new wheels in the DR and a city car to keep in DC for monthly visits. Now that all is said and done, we now have two black Minis...a 2013 S cabrio in DC that was formerly a BMW executive car in SC (triple black with leather & steptronic and 9K miles), and a euro version 2011 S (black w/red & black interior and 6K miles). Both are still under warranty. Both local dealers have been very good to deal with (Mini of Alexandria and Mini in Santo Domingo).
In the past I've had several sportscars (C5 vette, a 996 and a 997S, a Maser coupe, a Boxster S, a GTO and an Elise) and I have to say these Minis are extremely fun to drive. This is the best handling front wheel drive car I have ever driven...handling is excellent and acceleration and driving dynamics are very engaging. I'm looking forward to making time to drive around the island and picking up useful tips from this forum.
