Default new and need some help

Hello - I'm new here - have a 2012 R56 that I bought a year ago. I'm having a !ball driving it! I need some help: started it up today and no radio! I checked fuses - they don't seem to be blown (I looked under the bonnet and in the passenger side fuse boxes). Any ideas?

Welcome to MINI Cooper Forums. First, test the stereo fuses with a multi-meter. You will also want to test your battery to make sure the charge is good - it should read around 12.6 volts. Typically, anything below 12.2 volts is an issue. We have a lot of useful info that can help you as well here: MINI Cooper Radio-DVD Player Replacement (2007-2011) | Pelican Parts DIY Maintenance Article. If you still can't figure it out to go the bottom of that article and leave a comment. One of our MINI techs will have input for you.

Many thanks! I've spent the last hour looking at the article (tho' it is for a 2011 - my Mini is a 2012 S - but I'll bet it's the same radio, etc.). Just finding out that there is a fuse on the radio may (HOPE!) save me tons of $'s! I'm also looking at the other articles y'all have - WHAT A RESOURCE! THANK YOU!

In looking thru the articles a book is mentioned that is from Pelican: How to Maintain and Modify your new MINI. I couldn't find this book to buy it in the web site - is it available to buy?

Yes, even though it says to '11, it should still be useful to your '12 R56. I'm glad I could help and don't forget to comment at the bottom of the article if you get stumped and cannot find the issue. Nick will chime in with additional input.

That book has not released yet. We were hoping for this year, but it may not be until next year. If you are looking for a good book to have, that includes torque specs, and much more, be sure to look at the Bentley Manual: http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/..._pg1.htm#item0. It's a great additional resource.
