Hi Guys, I recently decided Id like to purchase a mini cooper s convertible. I found one that fits the bill and was hoping someone could point out to me the common problems of this model and if its a fair deal or not. I go to look at the car tomorrow so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Price seems right for the year and mileage. Test drive and ask a lot of questions. Get the carfax also. How many owners before you and all the other regular questions you might think of. Good luck!

 

Thank you very much the seller says he has the carfax so I'll look at that for sure. Beyond the normal used car checklist is there anything I should lookout for?

Looks for water or dampness where the battery is located which is in the trunk under the trunk. Sometimes the gutters get clogged up and the water seeps in there.

 

Welcome to MINI Cooper Forums! there is a really good buyers guide for the R53 MINI here that you can review. It should be extremely useful to you when you go to buy. I know a big topic besides the usual leaks is the CVT transmissions with that year.
