oil leak on oil pump solenoid

I have a 2012 mini coupe s and was told it was leaking oil on the oil pump solenoid. I paid 300 bucks labor to have a kit installed I guess. Is there a recall on these I'm hearing of big complaints about this. Car only has 24000 miles.
