Cooper Clubman cutting out at idle...
Hi all
2007 Clubman 1.6 (Cooper, not "S") with auto-start.
Not all the time, and if it does happen it's from about 5-10 minutes into a drive, I'm getting engine cutout when stopped but also when cruising out-of-gear to junctions (so not just when stopped, when I'd expect auto stop/start to kick in). If I press down on the accelerator I have to keep the revs above 1000 to stop it from happening. If auto-start is switched on, the engine will restart once I'm at a standstill but it will then immediately die unless I have the accelerator down. With auto-start switched off, the engine will not try to restart.
Any clues? Vacuum sensor? It seems to me to be related to accelerator position though, but why should it be only when it's been running for 5 minutes or more? (And if I remove the key and reinsert and restart, the engine's once again OK for a few minutes. Frustrating as hell!
Thanks
