Default Just bought an '07 S. Stick. What do I need to know??

I am a first time Cooper owner and have read a few things about these cars. Does anyone have any tips about maintenance, or upgrades? It does have a small oil leak from the turbo oil supply line. Is that a big deal? The oil pan gasket looks like it is leaking slightly too. And how do I fix all the rattles??

Thank you!!

Hello!

For the turbo oil line, that is a common oil leak. You'll want to replace with the following items below:

The oil feed line here and it's also a good idea to replace the return line below it at the same time. You will want to get 4 of those copper washers as well - 2007 Mini Cooper S Hatchback - Turbos & SuperChargers - Page 1

Does your oil line have the Turbocharger Oil Line Heat Shield for Oil Feed Line? It's at the link above if you don't already have it. It's MINI's fix to help from the o-ring failing inside the line.

If you plan to DIY this fix, we go over both oil line replacements in our turbocharger replacement tech article replacement under the tech info tab at the top > R56 articles > at the bottom.

Another common oil leak that can happen with the earlier R56 models is the valve cover can crack causing an oil leak. Keep an eye on it as it typically will show oil residue around the coil packs. If you need anything else be sure to let me know.
