I went over a bump and my engine randomly started making a clanking noise, but it only happens at under 1500 rpms or so. As soon as it happened, the gears started feeling spongy and it started smelling like something was burning in the engine. There is definitely enough oil in the engine and the check engine light is not on. I have a bad CV joint on my left side and I was planning on fixing that this weekend, could this be related to that in any way?
