New owner - reverse gear?
Hi All,
One week ago I bought a nice little 2006 Mini Cooper Seven Edition.
I've noticed since driving it that selecting reverse gear can be a bit of a grind, (literally!).
Now I know with many cars selecting reverse can often result in a slight grinding of the reverse gear as it's a non synchro gear but my Mini seems particularly bad at going into reverse. I have to wait for the gearbox to stop turning before I can get reverse cleanly.
All the forward gears select cleanly and the clutch bites about halfway through the pedal travel. There's also no sign of the clutch slipping.
My question is; is this a common problem with the Mini or is my clutch or slave cylinder on the way out?
Thanks in advance for any answers.
