Default Mandatory additions to a custom order ?

We are looking to purchase a Mini Cooper Base model through the build your own atMiniUSA.com.
It gives the price with the destination charge already included.

The Dealershipwe want to ship it to wants to add:
-lojack $895
-teflon coating $795
-floormats$95

AND they say it's mandatory/required to be able to ship it to their dealership.

Is this normal or does anyone have a different experience?
Thanks In Advance!

On a side note:
Does anyone know why they offer 2 different sets of alarms but have the same exact description?
One was for $500 and the other was $225
Thanks again.

Different dealers do different things ... From that list the dealer wants to put $1300 in profit in their pocket for selling to you ... Check the other dealers around you , most dealers will sell for msrp ups and extras are up to them ...

if the car is already built to almost your specs but it has these extras then they may be trying to sell them to you rather than build a new car. that's the only thing I can think of. based on your post, it looks as though they are trying to add some fluff to get their price up. those options were offered to me yesterday when I bought by the finance person but I declined them and we moved on. too bad their messing with you. absolutely do not buy with any forced options. go in tomorrow and let them know you are considering buying from another dealer and ask them if you can still get the 3/36 free maintenence taken care of at their dealership. that should change their perspective.

Thanks for your inputs. We will try calling another dealership. These guys are the one dealer in our area, the next one is an hour away. But worth it if we save 1300.

Anyone else on the alarm systems?
