Daughters car appears to have a faulty PCV system. Diaphram had a tear in it, new one has been ordered. But there is no vacume in the PCV line going under the intake manifold.
1). How much vacuum should there be in that line?
2). Where is the other end of that line?
The hose was replaced with a rubber hose and hose clamps by a local mechanic when he replaced the head gasket.
Any help is appreciated, I've been laying under the car for 20 minutes and I can't see where that hose attaches to the intake manifold.
Ok, here is an update, I don't think you can get to the bottom fitting of the PCV hose without removing the intake manifold but fortunately that is not a huge job, five bolts, all accessible from the top and one bracket on the bottom and its out far enough to reach the bottom of the hose.
As previously stated someone changed the PCV hose from the factory hose to a length of rubber hose and it was too long, crimped in two places and it appears to be a heater hose that's not fuel/oil resistant. There are some videos online showing this to be a feasible fix for a broken hose but I would not recommend it, this type of generic hose is not designed for the heat and chemicals it will experience. Pelican parts has the hose for $50.00.
