Just purchased a 2010 Mini for my daughter to drive at college:


The car has 103,000mi on it. It does have a check engine light on and I was told it was a catalytic converter code. It drives good but does stumble on acceleration from a complete stop once in a while. I also noticed it was a 2qts. low on oil when I stopped at the gas station and the 3k mile oil change is due in 10 miles. The radio back lighting text is not working well, seems to only light up some letters. I plan on getting the main service items done and getting some good all weather tires for Michigan winters. Any information you could provide about this would be helpful. I have made an appointment at Mini of Louisville for tomorrow afternoon to get it checked over before I take it to my daughter at Michigan State but I like to have a leg up before they oversell me...
