Default Potential New Mini Owner Has Some Questions

Hello,

I'm currently considering a used MINI, not sure exactly which model but I do have a line on an 03 S that may fit the bill. Anything in particular I need to be aware of or look out for? I plan on buying from a BMW/MINI authorized dealer as I've been a BMW person for many years, I've owned 8 since 1993 and I'm sold on BMW service. As far as the MINI is concerned, I drove one today for the first time and must say I enjoyed the handling, I can see why so many people are committed to them however, the first thing I noticed were how close the peddles are together. I have wide feet and this is a bit of an issue. I know just about every aspect of a MINI is customizable and they are big in the racing circuit, is there any way, possibly via aftermarket adapter, to adjust the peddles and how far apart they are? Also, as for the sun roof, I'm surprised that all they offer is a 50
% mesh. I would think this makes them *extremely* hot in the summer and direct sunlight. Is this so? and if so, should I just avoid one with a sun/moon roof altogether if I feel it may be a problem? Lastly, I noticed the clutch throw is *VERY* short. It reminded me of a track-prepped BMW M3 I once drove. Is this normal or is it too something that is commonly adjusted to drivers preference? I may purchase as soon as tomorrow so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers all!

Welcome ...

If the sunroof heat is a worry get them tinted out I have 5% tint on mine ...

Pedals are great for me but you might have to get anaftermarket set of pedal covers and mount them off to opposite sides or even bend the arms out ...

clutches vary from car to car mines very short probably less then 1 inch travel
