Default Want to buy an '07 soon! Please help!

Hi folks...I am ready to give up my Wrangler and purchase a brand new mini cooper! I am very excited about this but would like some guidance.

1. When is the best time to buy one? Do the prices come down after the summer?

2. Is it true that you can't bargain? Are all of the prices fixed?

3. Does anyone know if Mini of Manhattan is a good dealer? Any idea how long to order one?

4. How much am I gonna really love my Mini?

Thanks!!!!

Default RE: Want to buy an '07 soon! Please help!

I live in Brooklyn and just bought a mini cooper S (2 days ago). I was told by a dealer that the best time to buy a new car is at the end of the month because they want to meet their goal sales for the month.

Although the mini cooper has a high demand and the company really doesn't need to offer incentives...you can definitly negotiate. I went to a dealership in Long Island (hassel mini) and they gave me a price $400 below invoice. I thought I could get a better price so I told them that I would see what the manhattan dealership would give me. I never got to the manhattan dealership. I saw a mini dealership in the hamptons (hamptons mini) and showed him the quote and asked if he can do better. He gave me a price almost $1000 less then the first dealer. I wrote him a check on the spot.

Best of luck.
