Default Any issues with the 2005 Cooper S??

Are there any issues with the 2005 6 speed Cooper S engine or 6 speed manual transmission?
Thanks for any help.

Yes motor and trans hold up good.
Keep your eyes on your power steering hoses as they tend to leak.Power steering fan likes to sieze up , so hopfully you dnt like to take your Mini out mudding.
Definently watch your oil pan gasket as they are known to leak.
Watch out for leaking coolant from T-stat,in 2009 they changed the texture of the
T-stat from a rubber base to a silicone type base (dnt qoute me on that, but there is
a difference from the two)the newer one doesnt leak, unlike its counter part.
Also the cooling fans are dual stage and somtimes stage ones takes a poop...LOL ...so if your fan sounds louder than usual or doesnt come on at all obviously theres a problem.Sounds like alot but all these issues are easy fixes.

I purchased a 2005 Min S used last Sept. with 93k. I must say, I'm very happy with it, and considering I found out the original and previous owner was very meticulous about having it serviced @ the dealer, Im lucky.
I had a small coolant leak and some new non-pelletized radiator sealer took care of the problem. It's burning a little oil and I dont know whats up with that. I cant imagine that 107k on the engine has anything to do with oil loss in the cyclinder heads ???
NOW, the POWER STEERING - SHOT - It Squeels at will, doesnt work anymore, and the fan doesnt work anymore I refuse to pay $800.00 for a F*ck Up that MINI's Engineering Dept. is totally responsible for and is to chicken **** to admit that they SCREWED UP. Plus they wont make good and Reimburse us folks that have to suffer with it.

Thank You for the Link. Just called Laurie @ the US office and have set up to send mine to them for a rebuild. 275.00 18.00 shipping.
Alot better than 850.00 @ the dealer.
I still think Minin ought to fess up to their F - Up and Re imburse us all.
I'm taking off from work early now to go take mine off.
Thankx Again BV

Agreed. Watch that power steering. Mine went out completely... not a cheap repair.
