My R53 Cooper S won't start
My car alarm went off in the garage. I think this was due to a low battery charge Tried the key and it wouldn't disarm it. Just kept sounding.
Thought it might have been the keyfob battery, so changed it. Will now lock and unlock the doors, and the light at the end of the wiper stalk flashes as it should.
But when I open the car with the key, and turn the ignition all the way, all the dashboard lights come on, but the engine doesn't turn over. No click from the starter motor. I can hear a click from the passenger footwell (sounds like a relay).
The battery is fully charged and a recent one. Checked all the fuses inside the passenger footwell (left hand side) but all OK. Also checked all of the fuses under the bonnet. All OK. Swapped all of the relays around too, but it still wont start. The fuel pump operates, as does the cooling fan underneath. Any ideas?
