2019 mini cooper basic model 4 door hatchback, the code reads vanos solenoid. is it possible to use the special gear tool to take out the solenoid without messing with the timing etc. i need to replace the solenoid and on the older models you just take it out and replace, some models you can just take out the inserts and exchange those. on mine it has the gear one that needs a special wrench socket however i think that actuals hold up the vanos gear inside. i dont want to take it out if it messes the timeing up or holds up the vanos clutch gear... the dealerships wants 2500 to replace this simple 180.00 part. i think it may require taken part of the engine down to replace any info on this would greatly help out. just need a direction to go in. i cant find any info on hold to change it or how itworks online. it has 1,000 of post etc on previous models but the 2019 and later not much nfo on it. the early model 2019 i think had the older vanos that had a snap ring holding it in. i had the late 2019 model that has the short gear head
